Fuseboard upgrades

A fuseboards is also known as a consumer unit. You should make sure you know where it is in case you ever need to turn the electricity off in an emergency or on if a circuit protective devise activates.

If you live in a old house or one that hasn’t been electrically updated in a long time you may have a BS:3036 rewireable fuse board.

These old fuseboards are very dangerous when operating under faulty conditions as the fuse element sometimes splashes as it melts causing hot copper to spray around nearby objects, obviously hot copper falling on certain materials can cause fire.
